Epic Games is rebuilding Fortnite Crew around how long you stay subscribed. In a post on the Fortnite site on November 4, Epic said that from Saturday, December 5, 2026 the monthly V-Bucks allowance will scale from 1,000 to 1,600 based on tenure, members will earn 20% more XP, and the monthly Crew Pack outfit, the subscription's signature perk since it launched in December 2020, goes away after the December pack. The price stays at $11.99 USD a month.

The new V-Bucks tiers

Crew currently grants 800 V-Bucks a month, the amount it dropped to in June. From December 5 that is replaced by four tiers. They are not paid upgrades: Epic places each member in a tier automatically according to consecutive months subscribed, as FRVR and Gaming.net both lay out from Epic's post:

  • Core (1–2 months): 1,000 V-Bucks a month
  • Bronze (3–5 months): 1,200 V-Bucks a month
  • Silver (6–11 months): 1,400 V-Bucks a month
  • Gold (12+ months): 1,600 V-Bucks a month

Current members do not start from zero. Their starting tier is set by consecutive subscribed months over the previous 12 months, and a new in-game Crew tab will show it when the change goes live. Epic's own example, as reported by Gaming.net: someone who subscribed on June 15, 2026 and never lapsed reaches seven months on their December 15 billing date and lands in Silver. Lapsed subscribers who come back before December 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET keep credit for their most recent continuous stretch; anyone who resubscribes after that starts again at Core. Existing members do not need to do anything to keep their subscription.

What Crew loses

The trade-off is the outfits. December's Crew Pack is the last one, granted to subscribers through the month, and no new Crew outfits follow it. GamesRadar calls that the one real downside, since Crew skins have never been sold any other way. To soften it, Epic will grant every remaining Legacy Style in December for Crew Packs a player already owns, covering outfits, pickaxes and back blings, whether or not that player is still subscribed.

The OG Pass also ends. It closes on December 5 with the end of Chapter 1: OG Season X, and Epic says the next era of Fortnite OG is planned for late 2027, per Beebom and Gaming.net.

What stays, and the XP boost

  • The Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium all remain included.
  • Crew members earn 20% more XP. Party members without Crew get 10% more while playing with a subscriber. Boosts do not stack: a non-member gets one party boost no matter how many subscribers are in the group.
  • The pass schedule shifts during the transition: a Music Mini-Pass on November 12, then a LEGO Mini-Pass and the Battle Pass on December 5. After the mini-passes, Gaming.net reports, Music and LEGO passes return to full size and arrive more often.

What it means

Crew is turning from a monthly skin club into a loyalty program. For players who buy V-Bucks anyway, it gets better the longer they stay: a Gold member collects double today's 800 V-Bucks for the same price. For collectors who subscribed for the exclusive outfits, the main reason to subscribe ends with the December pack. The December 31 return window is the date to watch for anyone who let a subscription lapse this year, because it decides whether earlier months still count toward a higher tier.
